Charcoal soap – seems a bit counter-intuitive to skincare and cleaning at first blush. However, charcoal is a known natural detoxifier – it’s used to detoxify water, whiten teeth and even absorb harmful chemicals from the body in cases of emergency. It’s even been known to cure bee stings, poison ivy rashes, snake bites, and spider bites. As one of nature’s helpers, we were inspired to play with this ingredient in our soap line.
Charcoal has some purely amazing benefits for the skin. It absorbs deep into pores, drawing out impurities such as dirt and oil, and clearing congested pores. If you’ve suffered with acne, Charcoal soaps are a great natural deterrent. The beauty of charcoal is that it won’t dry out skin; it’s incredibly gentle on one’s skin. And charcoal has natural antibacterial properties, which helps alleviate infections (such as the bee stings and bug bites).
Our Starry Night soap gnomes are made with activated charcoal, hemp and clay. Clay, charcoal and hemp join together to clean, clear and moisturize skin. Our favorite use: after-garden clean-up. If you’ve spent the day in your garden with mud between your toes, use a bar of Starry Night for clean-up. It’s simply amazing for deep cleansing, leaving clean skin noticeably smoother, moisturized and happy.
